Women's History Month: Honoring Local Women in The HUB

Join us in The HUB Cultural center as we honor local leaders who are making an impact in our community.   

 Alma Bowen is a life-long Sonoma County resident with deep ties to the community. Currently, Alma is the Founder & Executive Director of ‘Nuestra Comunidad, a Sonoma County based non-profit focused on disaster preparedness for all, with an emphasis on under-served communities.

Mercedes Hernandez,  Sonoma County Latina entrepreneur who began her business journey at 19 years old. Her passion for fashion led her to start her own boutique called Bow N Arrow Clothing. Towards the end of 2020, she created the SoCo Market. The SoCo market is an outdoor community market for millennial owned businesses to showcase their business and connect with the community. 

Alma Magallon, was recognized in 2020 as an outstanding leader in the Latino business community and was given a Latino Business Leadership Award.  She has been involved with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for several years and now a serves as its president.  Each year, she participates in the planning for the South Park Day and Night Festival and is an active board member for the new nonprofit, the Small Business Hardship Fund.
